Community Mediation Program

In order to apply to become a Volunteer Community Mediator, you must:

q Attend an orientation session.

q Write an application

[click HERE for the application in Microsoft Word, which should then be emailed to Volunteer Coordinator, Patricia Ryan].

q Complete an in-person interview.

 

Those who are selected through this competitive process must then:

q Receive 45 hours of mediator training from Community Mediation Program, [or our partner organization, Community Mediation Maryland].

q Complete an apprenticeship, including 2 observations and 2 co-mediations with an experienced CMP mediator.

q Return for a 5-hour follow-up session, for a total of 50 hours of training.
