Rights & Responsibilities of Volunteer Mediators
In order to apply to become a Volunteer Community Mediator, you must:
- Attend an orientation session.
- Write an application [click HERE for the application in Microsoft Word, which should then be emailed to Volunteer Coordinator, Rick Buccheri].
- Complete an in-person interview. Those who are selected through this competitive process must then:
- Receive 45 hours of mediator training from Community Mediation Program, [or our partner organization, Community Mediation Maryland].
- Complete an apprenticeship, including 2 observations and 2 co-mediations with an experienced CMP mediator.
- Return for a 5-hour follow-up session, for a total of 50 hours of training.
